CRMC WOMEN'S LIFE CENTER CLASSES

Early Bird Pregnancy Class
Target audience - women planning a pregnancy or pregnant women up to 20 weeks gestation and their partners or support persons.
One two-hour class, offered every other month (Feb. - Dec.)
Provides information to help you understand the changes of pregnancy, nutritional needs, exercise, safety concerns, signs of pre-term labor and how to prepare for your special delivery.
OB Tour
Target audience - expectant parents and support persons. Those considering pregnancy and desiring to see what CRMC's Women's Life Center has to offer. Provides pertinent
information relations to pregnancy, labor and delivery and the maternity hospital experience. A tour of the unit is provided. This information, recognition of familiar faces
from the tour, and awareness of the physical environment will make you feel more empowered and comfortable when it's time to arrive for your childbirth experience.
Boot Camp For Expectant Dads
Target audience - expectant fathers.
One three-hour class offered 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. Saturday in a relaxed environment Dad-to-dad interaction with valuable information on how to best support your partner and
take an active parenting role. This program's mission is to assure every child the opportunity for a caring and capable father beginning at birth.
Cost: $10.00/person
Expectant Grandparents Class
Target audience - grandparents to be.
Updated information on baby care basics - what's changed in care and recommendations since the time your children were small. Information will be provided on how to help and
support during the first few weeks after birth. There will be a tour of the unit and information on updated in maternity care over the past 20 years.
One two-hour class offered quarterly in the evening.
Infant/Child CPR
Target audience - parents and others who will be attending infants and young children.
This is a community course for the lay provider, and does not substitute for BLS. No official certification is given.
Hands on class that teaches the skills of the American Heart Association course, CPR for Family and Friends.
One two-hour class offered the 1st Monday evening of each month.
Kangaroo Kapers
Target audience - expectant siblings ages 2-8.
This is a non-technical, non-medical sibling preparation class. Puppet Kelly Kangaroo shares information about what life with a new baby will be like, and to reassure children
that they are loved and being a big brother or sister makes them even more special. They will also see where their mom and baby stay while in the hospital.
Breastfeeding Support Group
Target audience - nursing mother/baby couples. This support group is also for expectant moms that are interested in breastfeeding.
Informal mother-to-mother interaction and support facilitated by an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant. Periodic brief formal education topics are also presented.
One - to two-hour meetings on the 1st Wednesday morning of each month.
